My first web site design portfolio entry is also one of the earliest web site designs that I created. It is for a small, family run hobby / business. (It’s my family’s hobby in fact.) The theme of the web site is primarily about old fashioned and vintage postcards. So I created a postcard based background image and an old fashioned header. My goal with this web site design was to achieve an old fashioned look that wouldn’t draw the visitor’s focus away from the main content.
Per the site owner’s (my Mom’s) request, I made a flexible width, table based design, because she would be doing the site content building and that is what she was familiar with at the time.

This website design is was for the online store for Vintage American. Recently, Vintage American opened a Cafepress shop for which I created a custom web site design. My goal was to keep some similarity with the Vintage American main website while also having a more modern look. I also wanted to strongly feature the products and designs for sale, not just my web site design.

The following designs were all created for an SBI (Site Build It) web design contest. The html template was provided by SBI and the goal was to make different looking website designs using only CSS.
There’s not too much to say about this particular portfolio entry except that I clearly had leaves on my mind. Actually, I started this web site design thinking that I would take it to a modern, chic sort of end. But since this website design was experimental (because I didn’t have a site owner to design for) I sort of just went with whatever came to mind. At some point I think a safari theme got stuck in my head. So this web site design is a little bit modern and a little bit safari.
It doesn’t look it, but this is one of my more extravagant website designs for the SBI design contest.
